Something which most people don't realize is that NO vaccine is 100% effective, and that includes the Rabies vaccine. In some cases, the vaccines are about 40% effective and some may actually cause the very disease they've been given to prevent! What's really disturbing is that some diseases can be inadvertently transmitted to other pets. Especially worrisome is the exposure to the other animals at home, such as pregnant pets (folks who are breeders) or older pets whose immune systems are not very strong. The way this happens is that some vaccines "shed" in the home environment through saliva (water & food dishes) and urine/feces (back yards).1 These vaccines, as with human vaccines, have secret (proprietary) ingredients. Most have toxins such as: mercury, formaldehyde, and aluminum. Dr. Len Horowitz has exposed the fact that the vaccines are also contaminated. So, giving these "annual boosters" is not innocuous - this practice may be harming the animals for life. The vets and vaccine manufacturers are aware of the problems. There is a "Vaccine-Associated Feline Sarcoma Task Force (VAFSTF)" started in 1996 because a cat, Sylvia, died from that very aggressive cancer (sarcoma) she got after getting vaccinated. The tumor would grow back at the vaccine injection site after each surgical removal. So now the shots are being given in the LEGS so if a tumor develops, the leg can be amputated! Rabies vaccination is the only legally required vaccination Many folks, like myself, are not having our pets vaccinated unnecessarily anymore. Instead, we are having blood tests done to determine the vaccine antibody level. These are called "titers": It is important to realize that titers are no guarantee of immunity, and neither are vaccinations. Titers do indicate one level of the body's immunity. The only way to know for certain if an animal or human is immune to a disease is to expose them to the virus/bacteria and see if they live.
Unfortunately, my own personal experience with rescuing a severely neglected Sheltie www.ItsForTheAnimals.com/LADDIE.HTM at Asheville, NC, Buncombe County's Animal Shelter over-vaccinating was terrible. There's a number of other hot-topics concerning our pets which some folks are really fired-up about. One is what I view as the incestuous relationship - "unholy alliance" between veterinarians, the pharmaceutical industry, and the commercial pet feed industry. Another is the over-use of chemicals/exposure to flea/tick products, heartworm drugs, pesticides and/or herbicides. Excellent Vaccination Information :
